Privacy Policy for iHateScreen

Last updated: October 25, 2026

iHateScreen ("we," "our," or "us") is an Android application designed to
help users manage distractions through app-blocking, website-blocking,
Focus Mode, and related protection features. This Privacy Policy
explains information that may be processed when you use the app.

Before publishing: Verify this policy against the final app build
and the exact SDKs enabled. Remove or revise anything that does not
match actual behavior, especially AdMob, Firebase, Accessibility
Service, diagnostics, and any backend services.

1. Information We May Process

Information you provide

If you contact support, we may process the email address and information
included in your message. Ordinary app use should not require an
account. If sign-in is included in the released app, the sign-in
provider may process a user identifier, email address, or basic profile
information according to your choices and provider settings.

App settings

To provide blocking and focus features, the app may store settings you
choose, such as blocked items, allowed items, focus preferences, and
protection settings. These may be stored locally on your device,
depending on the implementation. Update this policy if any such settings
are uploaded or synced.

Accessibility Service

If you enable Android Accessibility Service, iHateScreen uses it for the
app-blocking functionality described in the app's disclosure. Depending
on the feature enabled, it may process information about the currently
active app or screen state to determine whether a blocking rule should
apply. It should be used only for the disclosed purpose.

We do not intend to use Accessibility Service observations, screen
contents, typed text, blocked-app names, or browsing activity for
advertising, profiling, or sale, or to send them to AdMob for ad
targeting. You can disable Accessibility access in Android Settings;
some blocking features may then stop working.

Advertising

The app may display advertisements through Google AdMob. Depending on
SDK version, device settings, consent choices, and applicable
requirements, the advertising SDK may process information such as
advertising identifiers, IP address, app interactions, ad impressions,
diagnostic information, and signals used to detect invalid traffic. The
exact information depends on the SDK configuration and whether
personalized advertising is allowed.

Do not claim that no data is collected unless you have verified the
released build and all included SDKs.

Diagnostics

The app or service providers may process technical information such as
crash reports, performance data, SDK diagnostics, device/app
information, or network-related information if these services are
enabled. Name any additional analytics, crash-reporting, or backend
providers actually included in the final app.

2. How Information Is Used

Information may be processed as necessary to: - Provide app-blocking,
website-blocking, and Focus Mode features. - Save and apply settings you
choose. - Display and measure ads, where enabled. - Diagnose crashes and
improve reliability, where diagnostics are enabled. - Respond to support
requests. - Prevent fraud, abuse, and invalid advertising traffic. -
Meet legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information as a standalone data-broker product.
Advertising providers may process information under their own terms and
privacy disclosures.

3. Sharing of Information

Information may be processed by service providers that support features
enabled in the app, such as: - Google AdMob, for advertising if
enabled. - Google Play, for app distribution and related services. -
Firebase or Google sign-in services, only if included and used in
the released app. - Hosting, backend, or support providers, if
integrated.

We do not share Accessibility Service observations or blocking activity
with advertisers for ad targeting. Update this section if the final app
includes additional SDKs or data-sharing practices.

4. Advertising Choices and Consent

Where required by law or Google policies, the app will present consent
messages or privacy choices before requesting ads. Available choices may
depend on location and configuration. Users may manage available
advertising settings through Android or Google account settings.
Changing personalization settings may not remove all ads.

5. Storage and Retention

App preferences may be stored locally. Information handled by
third-party providers is subject to their systems and retention
practices. Support messages may be retained as reasonably necessary to
respond, maintain records, or comply with law. The app owner must
specify retention periods for server-side data, accounts, support
records, and diagnostics under their control. Do not promise a retention
period unless it is implemented.

6. Security

We use reasonable measures appropriate to the app's design to protect
information under our control. No storage or transmission method is
completely secure. Measures may include minimizing collection, using
trusted providers, protecting backend credentials, and updating
dependencies.

7. Children's Privacy

iHateScreen is not intended to knowingly collect personal information
from children in violation of applicable law. Set the app's target
audience and advertising configuration accurately in Google Play
Console. If the app is directed to or likely to be used by children,
additional advertising, consent, and data-handling requirements may
apply.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to
request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal
information. You can change app settings where supported, disable
Accessibility access in Android Settings, manage available
ad-personalization settings, and contact us with privacy questions.

If the released app does not create accounts, account deletion may not
apply. If accounts are introduced, provide in-app account deletion and a
public web deletion-request route where required by Google Play policy.

9. Permissions

The app may request permissions or special access needed for features
you choose, including Accessibility Service access. Each permission
should be requested only when necessary and explained clearly. Actual
permissions are determined by the released app's manifest and
implementation.

10. Changes

We may update this policy when the app, its SDKs, or applicable
requirements change. We will update the "Last updated" date when it
changes.
